Midd town manager search down to two

MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury has narrowed its town manager search down to two finalists who’ll be interviewed by the town selectboard within the next week or two.

That news came late last week from outgoing Town Manager Kathleen Ramsay, who on Friday, Sept. 6, concluded her fulltime duties as Middlebury’s top administrator. Ramsay has agreed to continue to help the town on a “very part-time basis” through this month, if she’s needed.

Right now, Ramsay, who worked in Middlebury for 20 years, is preparing to take a new job as municipal operations specialist for the Vermont League of Cities and Towns’ newly created Finance, Operations and Management Assistance Program.

The Middlebury selectboard has mapped out a search process that calls for the preferred town manager candidate to start between Oct. 10 and Nov. 10.

Town officials have declined to share the names of the two finalists, saying they continue to be employed in other jobs.
