Cory Cheever, 39, of New Haven
NEW HAVEN — Cory Cheever of New Haven passed away on Aug. 3, 2024. He was born on April 25, 1985, in Concord, N.H., and spent his early years in Goffstown, N.H., before moving to Vermont with his family in 1994. He graduated from Mount Abraham Union High School in 2003 and Green Mountain College in 2008.
Cory is survived by his wife, Amanda (Yauch) Cheever; his parents, Bruce and Karen Cheever; brothers Colby and Craig Cheever; nephew Daniel Cheever; in-laws Phil and Maureen Yauch; and his pups Lily, Xavier and Ella. He is predeceased by his beloved Black Lab, Gus.
During Cory’s time at Green Mountain College and after graduation he worked at the Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS) in the Educational and Animal Outreach Programs. After leaving VINS he took a position as a Wildlife Technician with Vermont Fish and Wildlife, he then received his Vermont Real Estate License and was currently employed by Re-Max North Professionals in Colchester, Vt.
Cory was an avid sportsman and wildlife enthusiast. He loved hunting and fishing with family and friends, training his Labradors, and raising exotic waterfowl. He often volunteered to transport injured wildlife to Licensed Rehabilitators in Vermont. He also loved being a member of the Addison County Baseball League.
Calling hours will be at Sanderson Funeral Home in Middlebury, VT on Monday, Aug. 12, from 10 a.m. to noon.
