Mark D. Truax, 70, of Lincoln
LINCOLN — Mark D. Truax, a longtime resident of Lincoln, passed away at the UVM Medical Center after a battle with cancer on Nov. 5, 2023. Mark was born on Dec. 30, 1952, along with his twin brother Michael, to Henry and Helen (Ward) Truax.
Mark played an active role as 2nd Constable and Neighborhood Watch member for many years in Lincoln, spending countless hours directing traffic and serving his community however needed. He made daily visits to the Lincoln General Store and enjoyed his trips to Shaw’s Supermarket, where he was treated like family. He enjoyed watching episodes of Bonanza, a good political debate, and time spent on his computer.
He is survived by his partner of 16 years, Brett Shaw, older brother George (Wendy) of Bristol, sister-in-law Gay Truax (Ward) of Salisbury, several nieces and nephews. He was predecased by both of his parents, brothers Henry and Ward, and twin brother Mike.
A graveside service will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Lincoln Fire Department or Lincoln Neighborhood Watch. ◊
