SUSAN KWIATKOWSKI
BRISTOL — Susan Kwiatkowski was born on March 5, 1946, in Washington, D.C. to John H. and Ann W. Howard.
Her family eventually relocated to Rochester, N.Y., and although Susan was raised there, she developed a sense of wanderlust and a love for culture when she was given the opportunity to study in Paris, France, in 1960. Her time there was brief in the grand scheme of things, but it left her with a fluency in the language that lasted a lifetime and an insatiable love of learning.
Susan’s life journey took her to a variety of places across the United States with the majority of the time being spent in Colorado, North Carolina, and Vermont. Professionally, she thrived in academic environments, particularly at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, as well as at the University of Vermont.
Above all, Susan loved being at home and raising her family. Known for her mischievous sense of humor, infectious laugh, and generous and helping heart, Susan brought a great deal of joy to those around her.
Susan is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Maggie, Rob, and Sarah; grandchildren Lucy and Sadie; sister, Judy; several nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends.
Details for services and a celebration of life will be determined at a later time.◊
