Downtown Middlebury block party cancelled

The Better Middlebury Partnership has canceled the block party scheduled for today because of the forecast thunderstorms.

Middlebury had planned to close Main Street from Merchants Row to Mill Street today — Thursday, July 27 — and bring in games, treats and fun activities from 4 to 7 p.m.

This downtown promotion was set to coincide with the regular Thursday Midd Summer Market downtown, where food and craft vendors sell their wares on Triangle Park and onto the town green. But the market was cancelled, too. This weather!

Regrettably, in today’s print edition we said that the Better Middlebury Partnership block party would happen on Saturday (the original date, which was changed). It’s not going to happen then, either.
