Tiger girls’ lax loses two games
MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury Union High School girls’ lacrosse team dropped a pair of Division I games in the past week and dropped their overall record to 2-6.
On May 4, host Essex closed the game on a 3-0 run to edge the Tigers, 7-5. Carlota Jensen led the Hornets with three goals, and Sierra Harris made 10 saves.
On Monday visiting title contender CVU dealt the Tigers an 11-5 setback despite 13 saves from MUHS freshman goalie Ava Schneider. Sophie Larocque and Nora Wootten each scored twice for the Tigers, and Larocque also controlled 10 draws. Alanna Trudeau scored the other Tiger goal.
Two CVU goalies combined for 12 saves, and seven Redhawks scored, led by Tess Everett with three goals and an assist.
The Tigers were looking to bounce back when they hosted St. Albans on Wednesday.
