Lois (Birchmore) Trayah, 67, of Middlebury
MIDDLEBURY — Lois (Birchmore) Trayah passed away on Aug. 21, 2021, after a brief illness, at UVM Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born Feb. 8, 1954, to Elsie (Morse) and Raymond Birchmore in Middlebury, Vt. She grew up on a small dairy farm, where she spent her younger years until she met and married Raymond Trayah. They were married for 42 years until Ray passed away in 2011.
Lois loved the simple things in life, such as watching her two sons play slow pitch softball over the years. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends playing board games or card games. Just a week before she went to the hospital she spent an afternoon playing games with her great-granddaughters. She could usually be found at the VFW on Bingo nights. She was huge fan of Bingo.
Lois leaves behind her two sons, Kelly Trayah and his wife Karen of Brandon, Vt. and Randy Trayah of Middlebury Vt.; her two granddaughters, Rebecca (Matt Pratt) Trayah, and Shannon (Sam) Hart; along with her five great-grandchildren, Kamille, Logan, Henry, Claire and Mia; as well as her sisters Jean (Bob) Gabouriault, Margery (Lester) Whittemore and Penny (Reed) Landers; and sisters-in-law, Charlotte Birchmore and Grace Birchmore. She also leaves behind friends that have become family over the years, such as Gloria Flemings and her family and Marion Sumner and her family.
She was predeceased by both of her parents, Raymond and Elsie Birchmore, and her two brothers Clarence Birchmore and Floyd Birchmore, along with her husband Ray Trayah.
She didn’t want a funeral but instead wanted a celebration which will be held in the near future.◊
