Stephen Smith, 69, of Salisbury

SALISBURY — Stephen Lee Smith, 69, of Salisbury, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, May 8, 2021.
“Steve” was born Nov. 5, 1951, and grew up in Monkton. In 1970 he graduated from Champlain Valley Union High School and Burlington High School for Mechanics. Soon after graduation he enlisted in the Air National Guard, serving for six years. On July 17, 1976, he married his wife of 45 years, Michelle (Gee). They raised three daughters: Karri, Kasi and Lillian.
Steve was well known as a logger and truck driver and enjoyed sharing his passion with friends and family. His 10 grandchildren meant the world to him and he enjoyed watching them grow. He is remembered for his dedication to his friends and family, his infectious personality and his unwavering strength.
He is predeceased by his younger brother, Rodney; his father, Duane; and his mother, Barbara. He is survived by his wife, Michelle; his sister Marylin; and his daughters, Karri, Kasi and Lillian and their families.
Stephen was always seen with a dog by his side, his beloved Chesapeake Bay retrievers. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Chesapeake Bay Retriever Relief & Rescue, Inc., cbrrescue.org.◊
