Vermont State Police Log: Speeding driver screened for DUI

ADDISON COUNTY — On this past Saturday, March 13, at around 6:45 p.m. a Vermont State Police trooper observed a vehicle travelling southbound on Route 7 near South Middlebrook Road in Waltham at 90 mph in a posted 50 mph zone.
Troopers stopped the vehicle near the intersection of Routes 7 and 17 in New Haven Junction and identified the drive as 20-year-old Kayli Manning of Middlebury. While speaking with Manning, the police officer detected indicators of impairment and screened Manning for driving under the influence.
After the screening, the trooper cited Manning for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.
Vergennes police assisted state police at the scene.
This was the only incident during the first 15 days of March that Vermont State Police operating out of the New Haven barracks reported in detail.
