Jean Huntress Foster, 93, of Middlebury

MIDDLEBURY — Jean Huntress Foster, 93, died Nov. 22, 2020 of natural causes after a year of declining health.
Jean was born Sept. 23, 1927, in Weymouth, Mass., and attended Middlebury College until she met George Foster, a young farmer, at a church social.
Jean was predeceased by her husband George, daughter Barbara Moodie and son-in-law Dwight Wildermuth. Jean was lovingly cared for at home by family, Paula, Monica, Sheri, Home Healthcare and Dr. Rouse.
Jean is survived by son Wayne and wife Jody; son Warren and wife Sally; son George and wife Debbie; and daughter JoAnne and husband Rev. Ken Meyers; son-in-law Floyd Moodie; 14 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; and two more “on the way” also survive her.
Jean lived her entire married life (since 1947) at the Foster family farm, surrounded by close relatives. She was a Porter Hospital volunteer, town meeting poll worker, longtime member of Middlebury Congregational Church and was very involved there until the last few years, when she was more housebound.
A private graveside service will be limited to family. In lieu of flowers, please donate to “Christmas Shoe Box/Samaritan’s Purse.”◊
