Lincoln news for Sep. 10

LINCOLN — The library will be restarting their weekly toddler storytime outside on Friday, Sept. 11, at 10 a.m. with a few precautions. Please bring your own blanket to sit on, your own lightweight scarf or textile square for the scarf songs and your own snack and drink. Email [email protected] for more information.
Breathing and Listening with the Natural World, a new afternoon activity geared toward students in grades 5 through 8, will begin outside on the library grounds starting Friday, Sept. 11, from 3-5 p.m. This event, led by Kristin Andrews, will include discussion, craft and activity thematically motivated by present world challenges and inspired by Robin Wall Kimmerer’s book “Braiding Sweetgrass; Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants.” Email the library for more information or if you would like to sign up.
The library will be opening on Saturdays again starting Sept. 12 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The library is open for browsing with COVID-19 measures in place, the computers are available by appointment only and as always, they continue to offer free wifi outside, as well as curbside book pick up for those who would prefer to stay outside of the building.

Thank you to everyone who helped us reach our goal of $15,000 in 15 days to build a new outdoor teaching and learning pavilion at the Lincoln Community School. Thanks to your generosity construction is underway! Visit our website at for more information and please continue supporting our wonderful community school.

The General Election is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Under direction of the VT Secretary of State’s Office, absentee ballots will be automatically mailed to every registered voter between Sept. 19 and Oct. 1. Military and overseas voters should request their ballots now. If you are not yet registered to vote or would like to request an absentee ballot, please do so at mvp.vermont/gov. If you are unable to log in or need assistance, please send an email to the town clerk at [email protected] right away. If you do not receive your ballot in the mail by the first week of October, please contact Sally at the town clerk’s office.
Until next time … Don’t Stop Until You’re Proud. If You Want It, You’ll Find A Way. It Is During Our Darkest Moments That We Must Focus To See The Light.
