Scott Andrew Piper, 63, Middlebury native
BURLINGTON — Scott Andrew Piper, 63, passed away May 29 unexpectedly.
Scott graduated from Middlebury Union High School in 1975. He worked at UVM Medical Center and retired at the age of 58.
Martial arts were a passion and he achieved a second degree brown belt in Chinese Kempo and Jujitsu. He spent many summers at Lake Dunmore in his restored Air Stream camper. Off-roading in his much-loved 1985 Jeep CJ-7 was another life-long hobby. A backyard mechanic, he completely rebuilt it over the years.
Late in life he became a successful online day trader.
He was predeceased by his father, Paul Piper and his stepfather, Oakley Palmer. Scott leaves behind his mother, Margaret Piper Palmer; his three sisters, Debra Piper and her partner Joseph Rassini, Joan Thorpe and her husband Ron Thorpe, and Dawn Piper and her partner Bill Thorpe.
Memorial services will be private.◊
