Vermont State Police Log for May 28

ADDISON COUNTY — On May 25 at around 12:30 a.m. Vermont State Police responded to a single vehicle crash on East River Road in Lincoln. Troopers report that Austin L. Wimett-Lafayette, 24, of Lincoln was driving a 2017 GMC truck westbound on East River Road when he left the roadway and struck a pole off the eastbound lane. 
The Bristol Rescue Squad transported Wimett-Lafayette to Porter Hospital for evaluation; it was determined he had no major injuries, police said.
While speaking with Wimett-Lafayette, troopers detected signs of impairment, so they screened him for driving under the influence and subsequently arrested him for suspicion of DUI and Negligent Operation. They took Wimett-Lafayette to the New Haven state police barracks and cited him for DUI and negligent driving.
Troopers were assisted on scene by the Bristol Fire Department.
In other recent activity, troopers 
•  On May 23 at approximately 9:21 p.m. responded to an all-terrain vehicle crash on Bennett Road near the intersection with White Ridge Road in Monkton. Police report that Jacob Roy-Bessette, 26, of Winooski lost control of the ATV he was driving, went off the road and struck an embankment. Roy-Bessette was transported by the Vergennes Area Rescue Squad to UVM Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of injuries. •  On May 23 at approximately 9:34 p.m. hours responded to a citizen dispute on Morgan Horse Farm Road in Weybridge. Police said they determined that Abraham Miller, 34, of Weybridge had broken the public peace by making unreasonable noise for an extensive period of time. They cited Miller on the charge of “Noise in the nighttime.”
