David James Mason, 88, of Starksboro
STARKSBORO — David (Stoney) Mason, 88, died unexpectedly at his home in Starksboro, on Thursday, March 26, 2020. He was born April 28, 1931 to Gale Mason and Ruth (Hullett) Mason in Starksboro.
Dave lived a full life of hard work as a farmer, cheesemaker, sawmill worker, and most notably as a renowned drystone wall mason. As testimony to his love of Mother Nature, David lives on through his magnificent drystone walls as they grace the landscape in all of Vermont, throughout New England, and across the country.
David is survived by his beloved wife Bette J. (Alger) Mason, his son Richard Mason and wife Heather Purinton, and grandson Everett Mason of Hinesburg.
He was predeceased by one brother, Don Mason.
