Vermont State Police Log: Man cited for assault, animal cruelty
ADDISON COUNTY — On Feb. 27 between 10 and 11:17 p.m., Vermont State Police received a report of an assault at a home in Salisbury
Troopers investigated and report that 65-year-old Paul LaFountain of Salisbury had assaulted a household member. State police officers said they also discovered two dogs that were severely neglected and deprived of adequate medical attention. Due to the severe neglect, they obtained a warrant to seize both dogs, and once they got them in hand took the K-9s to the emergency veterinary hospital in Burlington for immediate medical attention.
Police cited LaFountain for domestic assault and animal cruelty.
In other recent activity, troopers:
• On Feb. 26 at around 4 p.m. responded, with an Addison County Sheriff’s deputy, to a report of an active domestic disturbance at a Lake Street home in Addison. Based on investigation and evidence gathered at the scene, police arrested Conrad Wells, 33, of Addison and charged with one count of domestic assault.
• On Feb. 26 at 9:21 p.m. responded to a single- vehicle crash on Route 30 in Cornwall. While speaking with the driver, identified as 59-year-old Lois A. Stella of Brandon, troopers detected signs of impairment, screened Stella and cited her for driving under the influence, second offense.
