Roger Alan Freegard, 70, Vergennes

ROGER ALAN FREEGARD

VERGENNES — Roger Alan Freegard, 70, died Tuesday evening Feb. 4, 2020, at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington after a brief illness.
He was born July 3, 1949, in Vergennes, the son of Charles and Sarah (Jerome) Freegard.
Roger was a graduate of Vergennes High School class of 1968.
He married Joan Sweet on January 4, 1969, in Vergennes.
Roger was a dairy farmer and school bus driver for many years in Vergennes.
He enjoyed socializing, reading and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors are his wife, Joan Freegard of Vergennes; his children, Melissa Bourgeois (Alaric) of Shoreham, Lisa Lawrence (Kevin) of Ferrisburgh and Jeffrey Freegard of Vergennes; his siblings, Jimmy Freeguard (Beverly) of Whiting, Joan Litch of Whiting and Ann Bates of Shoreham; and his grandchildren, Tyler Lawrence, Shane Lawrence, Kyle Cota and Eliza Freegard.
He was predeceased by his parents, by his daughter, Sarah Freegard and by his sister, Betty Gendreau.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15, from noon-2 p.m., at St. Peter’s Parish Hall in Vergennes. Please bring a dish to share.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Vergennes Area Rescue Squad at 106 Panton Road, Vergennes, VT 05491.
