Middlebury Police Log for Oct. 3
MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police cited Clinton Coley, 27, and Rhiannon Banks-Morgan, 21, both of Middlebury, for domestic assault.
The citations followed an investigation at a Benedict Lane home on Sept. 25.
In other action last week, Middlebury police:
•Were alerted to a possible drug transaction from a vehicle on Weybridge Street on Sept, 23. Police said they were unable to find the vehicle.
•Served a temporary restraining order on a person in the Seminary Street Extension area on Sept. 23.
•Investigated a report of two boys shooting Air-Soft guns near a hiking trail off Seminary Street Extension on Sept. 23.
•Responded to a domestic disturbance at the Briarwood Apartments on Sept. 23.
•Responded to a burglary complaint at a Route 7 South location on Sept. 24.
•Investigated a report of a fight at the Briarwood Apartments off Valley View Road on Sept. 24. Police separated those involved, whom they said refused to provide statements on the matter.
•Served a no-trespass order on Sept. 24 on a person who was not wanted at a North Pleasant Street residence.
•Served a no-trespass order on a man who had allegedly tried to steal something from the Maplefields store on North Pleasant Street on Sept. 24.
•Responded to an illegal dumping complaint in the Lindale Circle neighborhood on Sept. 24.
•Investigated a report of someone trying to fraudulently withdraw money from an account at Key Bank on Creek Road on Sept. 24.
•Drove a drunken man to Rutland to receive detox treatment after he tried to leave Porter Hospital on Sept. 25.
•Responded to a report of a drunken man causing a disturbance in a Court Street Extension store on Sept. 25.
•Investigated a report of an underage person trying to buy alcohol from Hannaford Supermarket using a fake ID on Sept. 25.
•Drove, to Porter Hospital, a “highly intoxicated” man who had allegedly been drinking at the town’s recreation park off Mary Hogan Drive at around 5 p.m. on Sept. 25.
•Assisted Middlebury Union High School officials with an unruly student on Sept. 25.
•Investigated a report of an MUHS student possessing a vaping device and marijuana paraphernalia on campus on Sept. 25.
•Served a temporary restraining order on a local person in the Valley View area on Sept. 26.
•Investigated a report of a family argument in a vehicle parked off Washington Street on Sept. 26.
•Interviewed a woman who said she disclosed personal financial information during what she feared was a scam phone call on Sept. 26.
•Assisted a local mom on Sept. 27 whose 13-year-old daughter had left the home without permission for the second straight night.
•Escorted, back to Mary Hogan Elementary School, a student who had left the campus on Sept. 27.
•Received a report on Sept. 27 about a child “possibly” being followed on Court Street by a man in an older model Chevy Impala. Police are investigating the report.
•Responded to a noise complaint in the Forest Ridge Road neighborhood on Sept. 27.
•Helped Vermont State Police on Sept. 28 at a traffic stop, at the intersection of Ossie Road and Route 7, involving a driver who had allegedly attempted to flee.
•Assisted an East Middlebury resident who had received a scam email on Sept. 28.
•Helped a man whose wheelchair had run out of battery power in the Exchange Street area on Sept. 28.
•Responded to a domestic disturbance on Weybridge Street on Sept. 28.
•Responded to a reported argument at the McDonald’s Restaurant on Sept. 29.
•Received a report about a “suspicious man” behind a business off Court Street Extension on Sept. 29. Police said they took the man to Porter Hospital for a health check.
•Received a report about someone screaming in a South Main Street apartment on Sept. 29. Police said the man had been upset about having recently lost a personal item.
•Assisted a Monarch Court resident with a person who was refusing to leave his home on Sept. 29.
•Assisted Vermont State Police on Ossie Road on Sept. 30. Police said a suspect had crashed into a state police cruiser during an attempted traffic stop.
