PANTON — Amy A. Childers, 51, passed away Monday, Sept. 9, 2019, at her home in Panton. She was born on Oct. 31, 1967 in Burlington, the daughter of the late Ronnie L. Childers Sr. and her mother Barbara (Fleming) Childers.
Amy was a graduate of Vergennes Union High School, class of 1985 (best class ever). Amy is survived by her loving husband Greg A. McEvilla; three sons, Christopher Hayes Davis, John Addison McEvilla and James Augustus McEvilla; granddaughter Natalie May Davis; mother Barbara (Fleming) Childers; brother Ronnie Childers; sisters Evelyn Burlock (Jerry) and Paula Hawkins (Chip); and many nieces and nephews. Amy is predeceased by her father Ronnie L. Childers Sr., a brother, Glen, and nephew Chester Ray Hawkins.
Amy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed raising her boys and husband into the fine men they are today. She really enjoyed watching her boys and other children grow and play through their lives. Having a house full of children was when she was happiest. She was a kind, quiet soul who became quite sassy from many years of raising her husband and boys.
Amy enjoyed her time living in Panton and visiting with the locals while working at the Panton General Store. Amy enjoyed the people she worked with at Vermont Teddy Bear.
A celebration of her life was held on Saturday, Sept. 14.◊
