MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police on Friday, Aug. 9, investigated the reported theft of two vehicles — each hauling a livestock trailer — from Addison County Commission Sales off East Main Street.
Police recovered the vehicles in Leicester and found the trailers in Salisbury.
Police continue to investigate.
In other action last week, Middlebury police:
• Served a no-trespass order on Aug. 5 on a person who was not wanted at the Maplefields store on North Pleasant Street.
• Took into protective custody a transient man who was allegedly causing a disturbance on Court Street on Aug. 6. Police said the man was taken to the University of Vermont Medical Center.
• Responded to an illegal dumping complaint in the Twin Circles neighborhood on Aug. 6.
• Received a report about a woman allegedly damaging a guest room at the Courtyard by Marriott hotel on Court Street Extension on Aug. 6.
• Investigated a possible ATM fraud at the National Bank of Middlebury on Court Street on Aug. 7.
• Responded to a domestic dispute between a mother and son at a Halladay Road home on Aug. 7.
• Responded to a report of a drunken man bothering customers at Hannaford supermarket on Aug. 8. Police took the man to Grace House in Rutland for detox services.
• Responded to the town green on Aug. 8 on a report of a disorderly man. The man was gone when police arrived.
• Received a noise complaint about contractors picking up trash at 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 8 on Forest Ridge Drive.
• Assisted Porter Hospital staff in locating a mental health patient who had walked away from the building on Aug. 8.
• Received a report of the sound of suspected fireworks possibly coming from the Middlebury College campus on Aug. 9.  Police determined the noise was coming from further south on Route 30, outside of Middlebury.
• Investigated a domestic disturbance at a Seminary Street Extension home on Aug. 9. Police said the victim in the case declined to provide a statement.
• Received a report of a man allegedly violating a no-trespass order at a Court Square location on Aug. 9. Police continue to investigate.
• Received a report of a man leaving a Washington Street business without paying for a drink on Aug. 10.
• Cited John Kenney, 71, of Leicester for retail theft, following an investigation at Hannaford supermarket on Aug. 10.
• Cited Jarrod Sullivan, 49 of Middlebury for retail theft at Hannaford supermarket on Aug. 10.
• Assisted a parent with an adult child who was experiencing a mental health crisis in the Case Street area on Aug. 10.
• Investigated a noise complaint associated with a possible fight in the Case Street area on Aug. 10.
• Investigated a report of an adult yelling at a child in the South Pleasant Street area on Aug. 11.
• Assisted emergency responders with a man who was experiencing a mental health crisis in the Route 7 South area on Aug. 11. Police said the man was taken to the Rutland Regional Medical Center.
• Helped Middlebury Regional EMS officials with a drunken man on Seymour Street Extension on Aug. 11.
• Checked on a man and woman who were arguing in the Seminary Street area on Aug. 11. Police said nothing physical had occurred.
• Turned over, to a responsible adult, a drunken man who was walking around The Centre parking lot off Court Street Extension during the afternoon of Aug. 12.
