ACSD kids to celebrate visual and performing arts

MIDDLEBURY — Spring Into the Arts is a biennial event of the Addison Central School District that showcases student artwork and performances from public, private and homeschool settings in the communities of Bridport, Cornwall, Middlebury, Ripton, Salisbury, Shoreham and Weybridge. The public is welcome to take part in events next week.
Students’ visual artwork will be displayed at the event, as well as in businesses throughout Middlebury. Elementary, middle, and high school students will participate in workshops with professional guest artists who ignite our students’ love and passion for the arts, and students will also present their own musical and theatrical performances for their peers.
The workshops and performances will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, May 29 and 30, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mahaney Arts Center at Middlebury College. The MAC is located at 72 Porter Field Road in Middlebury.
Musical performances and art displays are free and open to the public. There will also be a free evening performance featuring a band of ACSD elementary students and music from guest artist Tim Cummings on Wednesday, May 29, at 7 p.m. at Middlebury Union Middle School.
