Tiger girls’ hockey team tops Brattleboro
MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury Union High School girls’ hockey team topped visiting Brattleboro on Saturday, 4-2, to move back to .500 at 5-5.
The victory by the Tigers kept them in first place in Division II and snapped a three-game skid that had come against D-I teams. Brattleboro, a D-III team, dropped to 3-8.
Carlisle Brush and Avery Gale led the Tiger attack with a goal and two assists apiece, and Gale set up Brush’s third-period insurance goal. Anna McIntosh and Merry Kimble also scored for the Tigers.
Tiger goalie Lydia Deppman stopped six shots, and the Colonels’ Natalie Gadowski made 17 saves.
The Tigers will visit two D-II teams this week, Champlain Valley on Wednesday and Missisquoi on Saturday.
