Middlebury couple celebrates three-quarters of a century together

MIDDLEBURY — Joyce and Cary Marshall will celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary this Sunday, Jan. 6.
They have lived in Middlebury for most of their married life, and have raised seven children, and lots of grandchildren and even great-grandchildren.
They still live in their own home, and both just turned 95 in October.
Cary Marshall owned a hardware store where Fire and Ice Restaurant is now, “Marshall’s Hardware.” He also ran “Marshall’s Locks and Alarm,” putting in fire alarms and working on locks all over the state.
Joyce Marshall worked with Cary in the store, and also worked in the superintendent’s office in Middlebury. After she retired, she volunteered for several years, including at the WIC office.
Their daughter Jenne said they loved camping, and were members of the Good Sam Club.
Cards wishing the Marshalls well may be sent to them at 91 Seymour St., Middlebury, VT 05753.
