MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police cited Ricky Lawrence, 26, of Middlebury for simple assault, following an alleged incident in the North Pleasant Street area on July 11.

In other action last week, Middlebury police:

•  Assisted with traffic control after a large tree limb had fallen across East Main Street on July 10.

•  Helped Middlebury Regional EMS with a man who had suffered either a medical crisis or an emotional breakdown on Storrs Avenue on July 10. Police said the man was taken to Porter Hospital.

•  Were informed some medication had allegedly been stolen from a room at the Residence at Otter Creek retirement community on July 10.

•  Helped Middlebury Regional EMS care for a drunken man on Willow Drive on July 10.

•  Responded to a report of a vehicle leaving the scene of an crash on Route 7 South on July 11.

•  Explained, to a man and woman, Middlebury’s policy of not allowing camping on town property on July 11.

•  Turned over, to Middlebury College Public Safety, a drunken student who needed a safe ride home on July 11.

•  Gave an intoxicated local woman a courtesy ride home on July 11.

•  Responded to a domestic disturbance at a Munson Road residence on July 12. Police said a relative was allegedly acting irrational and threatening family members. The relative left the home at the request of the family.

•  Warned three men who had allegedly been making unwanted hand gestures toward a woman on Maple Street on July 12.

•  Investigated a trespassing complaint in the Airport Road area on July 12.

•  Responded to a report of several drunken men in front of the Champlain Farms store on Court Street on July 13. Police found no one at that location fitting that description.

•  Cited Jenny Blair-Maxwell, 49, of Orwell with retail theft, after she allegedly gave away items from the Hannaford’s Supermarket (as an employee) without paying for them on July 13.

•  Located a man on July 13 who had taken a trailer charger and a dolly from the Addison County Solid Waste Management District transfer station off Route 7 South. Police said the man had mistakenly thought the items were up for grabs.

•  Were informed someone had stolen a purple Schwinn bike from a bike rack on Bakery Lane on July 13.

•  Responded to a report of a 10-year-old child hitting a family member at a Court Street residence on July 13. Police took the child to speak with Counseling Service of Addison County officials.

•  Investigated a report of a vehicle leaving the scene of an crash in the Seymour Street area on July 14.

•  Helped a local resident on July 14 whose credit card information had been hacked.

•  Alerted Green Mountain Power to a potential electrical mishap after reports of an “explosion” in the Colonial Drive area on July 14.

•  Assisted a homeless woman in the Route 7 South area on July 15. Police said they were unable to find a room for the night and ultimately drove her to a 24-hour gas station for her to wait until the Helping Overcome Poverty’s Effects office opened the next morning.

•  Helped a local resident who reported receiving unwanted phone calls on July 15.

•  Responded to a report of a customer harassing a clerk at the Maplefields store on North Pleasant Street on July 15.

•  Helped Vermont State Police at the scene of a family fight at a Smead Road home on July 16.
