Letter to the editor: Progress being made at Mt. Abe

Thank you for the great article by Christopher Ross titled “FitzGerald getting to work at Mount Abe: New facilities chief ramps up rehab” (Dec. 13 edition). It is absolutely terrific to see the good things that are happening at Mount Abe. There are lots of them.
Our Mount Abe Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning – Indoor Air Quality Citizen’s Group (Mt. Abe HVAC-IAQ Citizen’s Group) has been working hard to promote the credible, initia, IAQ assessment and to actively and meaningfully involve students in that assessment. Both are now beginning to take shape.
Hats off to the Mount Abe Environmental Action Group for helping to move this along. They gathered their own data on indoor air temperatures and relative humidity during the fall 2018 shoulder season. The data were shared with Superintendent Patrick Reen and had a positive impact. Our Citizen’s Group will encourage them in their efforts to become even more active, informed, and empowered players in moving Mt. Abe and our five elementary schools to a better place.
