Salisbury news for Dec. 20

SALISBURY — A reminder: Salisbury town office will close at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20, and reopen on Thursday, Jan. 3, at 11 a.m.
If you are interested in running for any position at town meeting you should get a petition from the town office so your name can be listed on the ballot.
The Salisbury Congregational Church will hold its Annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 24. Everyone is welcome. There will be no church service on Sunday, Dec. 30. Regular services will resume on Sunday, Jan. 6 at 10 a.m.
As most of you know, this is my last Salisbury news column for the Addison Independent. I don’t remember when I began to write but I had to type it and drive in to Middlebury to drop it off at the paper. These days I can just email to them — progress! I would like to say thank you to all the wonderful individuals, committees, organizations and town officials who have provided me with the information for my column — I could not have done it without you.
Editor’s note: We are very grateful to Mary Burchard for providing our readers with years and years of news and for being our eyes and ears in Salisbury. Sadly, her run as Salisbury Correspondent for the Addison Independent has come to an end and we are looking for a new Salisbury Correspondent. If you live in town and want to share what is going on with others through the local newspaper as a regular assignment with nominal payment, email us at [email protected].
