NORTH CLARENDON — Host Mill River on Tuesday got past the Middlebury Union High School girls’ basketball team, 34-24, in the Tigers’ opener. 
The Minutemen opened up an 18-11 halftime lead in evening their record at 1-1. McKenna Ludden led MRU with nine points, and Katelyn Schutt added seven.
Freshman Annie Andrus debuted for MUHS with nine points to lead the Tigers, and senior Ashley Sunderland added seven.
MUHS is set to host Fair Haven on Thursday evening.
