MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police served a juvenile citation to a Middlebury Union High School student who, on Dec. 3, allegedly looked out a classroom window and exclaimed “school shooter” multiple times. 
Police said the student told them he was just having fun and “didn’t mean it for real.” Police said the student was cited for sounding false public alarms.
In other action last week, Middlebury police:
•  Helped Middlebury College Public Safety officials search for a drunken man, dressed in black clothing, who was allegedly harassing students in the Porter Field Road area on Dec. 3. Authorities were unable to find the man.
•  Helped a driver who had run out of fuel on Route 7 South on Dec. 4.
•  Stopped a driver who had reportedly been operating erratically on Route 7 on Dec. 4. Police said they found the driver to be driving with a suspended license and without insurance.
•  Took, to Porter Hospital for mental health evaluation, a woman who had been sitting on the floor and refusing to leave the Rite Aid Pharmacy on Dec. 4.
•  Were informed that a student had been caught trying to steal food from the MUHS cafeteria on Dec. 4.
•  Ticketed three MUHS students for using e-cigarettes on school grounds on Dec. 4. The tickets were for being minors in possession of nicotine, according to police.
•  Assisted a girl who alleged her cell phone had been stolen from MUHS on Dec. 5.
•  Received truancy reports about two children absent from classes at Mary Hogan Elementary School on Dec. 6.
•  Spoke with a local resident about a potential Craigslist scam on Dec. 7.
•  Spoke on Dec. 7 with Addison County Transit Resources officials about a bus rider who had allegedly been threatening others. ACTR officials said they would monitor the rider’s behavior, according to police.
•  Received a report that someone had allegedly taken some prescription medication from a Jayne Court Residence on Dec. 7.
•  Checked on Dec. 7 on the welfare of a Meals on Wheels client who hadn’t been seen at his Kings Row home for two days. Police found the client was safe at a different location.
•  Received a report of a youth allegedly trying to buy alcohol at Hannaford’s Supermarket using a fake ID on Dec. 8.
•  Returned a found wallet to its owner on Dec. 8.
•  Responded to a single-vehicle crash into the crosswalk light at the intersection of College Street and Old Chapel Road on Dec. 9. Police said no one was injured in the accident.
•  Checked on the driver of a vehicle that was seen sitting in the Case Street breakdown lane for more than and hour during the night of Dec. 9. Police said the driver was a Ripton resident who was preparing to head home.
•  Helped Vermont State Police investigate a domestic dispute at a home off Samson Road Extension in Cornwall on Dec. 10.
