Lincoln news for Nov. 1

LINCOLN — Gratitude is the theme for the after school craft with Betsy Graziadei at the library on Wednesday, Nov. 7. Join them for a craft session, snack and story. Sign up at the library.
The Burnham Music Series presents Hot Pickin’ Party on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. Hot Pickin’ Party is a bluegrass band comprised of guitarist Doug Perkins, bassist Mike Santosusso, and dobro player Adam Frehm. The trio first appeared on the Vermont music scene over 20 years ago as the core members of the popular newgrass jamband Smokin’ Grass. After they disbanded, they each performed with various artists in New England before reuniting to form Hot Pickin’ Party.
The group’s music celebrates this reunion with heartfelt harmonies, dynamic musical interplay and a spirit of exploration of journeys old and new. At a Hot Pickin’ Party performance you’ll hear a mix of original songs, traditional bluegrass songs, familiar yet eclectic classic covers and the occasional completely improvised jam.
Local author, Andrea Chesman will be at the Lincoln Library on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 7:00 p.m. discussing her new book, “The Fat Kitchen: How to Render, Cure & Cook with Lard, Tallow & Poultry Fat.” Come taste some treats made with lard, tallow, and duck fat and talk with the author.
The Road Closed signs are posted and that only means one thing: the Lincoln Gap Road is officially closed for the winter. Road barricades will be installed today.
REMINDERS: Voting is Tuesday, Nov. 6, at the town offices from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Don’t forget to stop by the Library’s Election Day Soup & Bake Sale while you’re at the polling station. Wednesday, Nov. 7, is an early release day at LCS. Students will be dismissed at 11:45 a.m.
Until next time … A Wise Person Knows That There Is Something To Be Learned From Everyone. Good Things Take Time. Don’t Forget To Vote.
