Letter to the editor: Jerome will address healthcare, livable wages, education

I’m writing to urge my friends and neighbors in Pittsford, Brandon, and Sudbury to vote for Stephanie Jerome for the Vermont House of Representatives.
Stephanie is a fifth generation Vermonter, and she and her husband, Brian, have raised three children in Brandon while owning and operating their own small business. As small business owners ourselves, my husband and I struggle to provide health insurance for ourselves and our two children while also teaching part time at Castleton University to supplement our income. We are committed to staying in Vermont and raising our family here, and we believe Stephanie Jerome has the knowledge and experience to address the issues we care about, such as quality, affordable healthcare, livable wages, and a strong and supportive school system.
These days, many of us are quick to point out the problems in our communities, but few of us give our time and experience to find solutions. Despite the commitments of work and family that we all share, Stephanie is stepping up to be an intelligent, fair, and sensible voice for her neighbors in Brandon, Sudbury, and Pittsford. Her experiences as a parent, business owner, volunteer, and breast cancer survivor, as well as her ability to listen to all sides of an issue, make Stephanie Jerome especially qualified to represent our region.
As neighbors in this beautiful and close-knit corner of Vermont, let’s remember how fortunate we are to have such qualified people to represent our concerns. All of the candidates for the Pittsford, Brandon, and Sudbury House seats, Democrats and Republicans, are worthy of consideration, and we have two seats available to represent us. I will proudly vote to re-elect Butch Shaw (R) and to elect Stephanie Jerome (D). We would be so fortunate to have her in our corner!
Stephanie Wilson
