I write this in support of Peter Bevere for the Addison County State’s Attorney. Peter Bevere is a career prosecutor and a strong advocate for all victims of crime, especially women and children. I have known Peter for over six years and in that time, he has demonstrated a dedicated commitment to his role as a prosecutor who specializes in crimes against women and children. In addition, he has much experience in a wide range of offenses including serious felony cases involving assaults and homicide.
Domestic and sexual violence is a pervasive issue that plagues the entire state of Vermont, including Addison County. Violence is a crime that doesn’t discriminate and it requires a concerted and impactful response. Peter Bevere is committed to prosecuting these offenses and has the experience to do so. He is an embedded facet of his community as a resident of Middlebury and he seeks to work for the people he lives amongst to protect and serve them. His intent is to fight for the rights of all victims of crime, including some of the most vulnerable.
I have had the distinct pleasure of observing Peter’s work and communication skills across many disciplines; with other prosecutors, defense attorneys, victim advocates, community partners/agencies, stakeholders within the criminal justice system, and members of the public. Peter has the ability to effectively communicate and work toward outcomes that protect the community and ensure that the most vulnerable members of Addison County feel safe and heard.
Addison County deserves to have someone as State’s Attorney who is invested in seeing their own community thrive. Vote for Peter Bevere for State’s Attorney for Addison County on November 6th, 2018.
