Otter cross-country teams take second in MVL meet

SPRINGFIELD — The Otter Valley boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams each finished second on Tuesday at the Marble Valley League championship meet, which Springfield hosted.
Hartford (33 points) won the boys’ race, with the OV boys in second at 35. Windsor breezed in the girls’ race with 19 points, with OV next in a tight bunch between second and fourth at 51 points.
OV Coach Brooke Kimball noted the OV middle school girls won their race, and the OV middle school boys were second.
“Otter Valley has a pretty bright future for cross country,” Kimball said.
Individually, the OV high school runners’ results were:
Boys: 4. Joseph Cijka, 18:35; 5. Parker Todd, 18:59; 7. Liam Murphy, 19:25; 19. Hayden Gallo, 20:58; 35. Tamar Foster, 25:07; 36. Mickeen Hogan, 25:08.
Girls: 7. McKenna White, 24:16; 13. Sarah Calvin, 25:33; 15. Gracie Coolidge, 25:53; 16. Madilyn Morgan, 26:04; 29. Brittany Corey, 32:36.
