Letter to the editor: What a Republican vote means
Vote Republican if you want to restrict women’s reproductive rights including birth control; vote Republican if you want to restrict voting rights; vote Republican if you want to repeal gay marriage and LGBTQ rights; vote Republican if you want to restrict free trade; vote Republican if you want to compromise Medicare and Social Security; vote Republican if you want to decrease funding for WIC and SNAP; vote Republican if you want to increase military spending; vote Republican if you want to burn coal; vote Republican if you want to release more methane into the environment;
Vote Republican if you want to gut the EPA and thus a clean environment for your kids and grand kids.
Vote Republican if you want schools and prisons for profit; vote Republican if you want to remove national monuments; vote Republican if you deny man’s role in climate change; vote Republican if you do not care about science, facts and truth; vote Republican if you want to gut Health Care; vote Republican if you want to restrict family leave policies; vote Republican if you don’t want an increase in the minimum wage; vote Republican if you think separating parents from kids at the border is a good thing; vote Republican if you want a wall at our borders; vote Republican if you want to use religion in politics and decision-making; vote Republican if you want to continue deficit spending (no longer a solely Democratic attribute); vote Republican if you think Trump is a good role model for your children and grandchildren; vote Republican if you do not care about lies and hypocrisy.
Finally, vote Republican if you want what is happening in Washington to eventually happen here locally. Otherwise vote Democratic.
If you don’t vote at all, you’re voting Republican.
