I am privileged to have worked with Peter Bevere in the Rutland County State’s Attorney’s Office from 2011 through 2014.  His qualifications and dedication to the fair and impartial administration of justice prompts my letter endorsing Peter to receive your vote to be the State’s Attorney for Addison County.
Peter took on a serious felony case load the day he started working in the Rutland County State’s Attorney’s Office.   His past litigation and administrative experience as a criminal and civil attorney combined with his judicious temperament provided impartial and thorough prosecution to the people of Rutland County in the hundreds of cases he handled every year.  He consistently worked well with the multiple departments and agencies for the State and towns to obtain the best possible investigation of the cases he was responsible for.  He is an organized, hard working, and open-minded attorney.
Peter is a graduate of Middlebury College and New England School of Law.  After law school he was first an Assistant District Attorney in Massachusetts then a Deputy State’s Attorney in Chittenden County.    As a Deputy in Chittenden County, he focused on Domestic Assault cases prosecuting felony cases through jury trial to conviction.  After three years as a deputy in Chittenden County Peter expanded his legal experience by working as a civil attorney with the law firm of English, Carroll & Boe, P.C.  for several years.   He returned in 2011 to his principal interest, that being, public service as a prosecutor.  As a Deputy in Rutland Peter successfully handled a high volume of all serious felony cases.  He  prosecuted many of those cases through jury trial to conviction. 
Peter’s ties to Addison County began when he was a student at Middlebury College.  He and his wife Kelly moved back to Middlebury in 2003 and now have two children in the Addison County School system.  
Without reservation, I endorse Peter Bevere to be elected as the State’s Attorney for Addison County.  He has the experience.  He understands and has empathy for the parties and witnesses in criminal investigation.  He has a driving work ethic.  He is a person of integrity.  He is a person of sterling character.
