BRISTOL — On Sept. 21, at 5:07 p.m., Bristol police arrested Brian G. Warner, 45, of Rutland and cited him for violating conditions of release and driving under the influence of drugs.
Warner, whose release conditions, stemming from a pending DUI drugs arrest, prohibited him from buying, having or using regulated drugs without a valid prescription, was stopped after an officer said he observed him consuming marijuana while operating a vehicle on Lincoln Road.
Warner was processed and released with a citation to answer the charges in Addison Superior Court, criminal division, on Nov. 5.
Between Sept. 17 and 30, Bristol police completed 39 foot and car patrols at various locations, namely on Mountain Street, Main Street and surrounding areas, including near Bristol Elementary School, as well as in the eastern part of the police district.
Officers also completed 36 hours and 45 minutes of directed patrol, traffic enforcement and patrols of the police district and the town under a town contract.
During that same period, officers checked security at Mount Abraham Union High School 10 times, completed 16 fingerprint requests, verified one vehicle identification number, conducted 10 business checks on Main Street and surrounding areas and four times secured unsecured buildings.
Bristol police assisted Vermont State Police on Sept. 18, the Addison County Sheriff’s Department on Sept. 24, and the Bristol Rescue Squad twice on Sept. 29.

•  On Sept. 17 investigated an accident that occurred in the parking lot of Mount Abe.
•  On Sept. 17 assisted with traffic control while Vermont Utilities Management Services was working in the travel lane of East Street.
•  On Sept. 17 secured a dog wandering on Mountain Street, identified its owner and returned it.
•  On Sept. 17 received found property, contacted the owner and returned it.
•  On Sept. 17 assisted a person in locating a minor refusing to go home. The minor was located and picked up by their parent.
•  On Sept. 18 responded to the report of a juvenile incident, which was resolved without incident.
•  On Sept. 18 responded to a public records request from a law enforcement agency.
•  On Sept. 18 an officer completed webinar training on the updated use and features of a forensic tool used by the Bristol police.
•  On Sept. 19 assisted other law enforcement agencies with a search warrant for an active investigation.
•  On Sept. 19 spoke with a district resident having a civil problem with their landlord and referred them to the Vermont renters’ handbook and the Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity.
•  On Sept. 19 opened an investigation into a vehicle reported to have been stolen three weeks earlier.
•  On Sept. 20 completed webinar training sponsored by the National Criminal Justice Training Center.
•  On Sept. 20 completed webinar training on law enforcement internet resources.
•  On Sept. 20, at 5:24 p.m., responded to the report that a vehicle had been struck and damaged by another vehicle in a local parking lot.
•  On Sept. 20 responded to an alarm and determined it had malfunctioned.
•  On Sept. 21 responded to a noise complaint and determined the noise was not unreasonable.
•  On Sept. 22 referred to the appropriate agency a citizen concerned with the welfare of another citizen.
•  On Sept. 24 opened an investigation into a theft.
•  On Sept. 24 an officer completed yearly required National Crime Information Center and Criminal Justice Information Services testing.
•  On Sept. 25 an officer completed Child Passenger Seat Technician Update training hosted by the Vermont Department of Health.
•  On Sept. 25 assisted a citizen who had locked their keys in their vehicle.
•  On Sept. 25 opened an investigation into the report of a bicycle stolen from a garage.
•  On Sept. 25 responded to a motor vehicle complaint and completed a report.
•  On Sept. 26 received a request to assist with the search of a device related to another law enforcement agency’s active investigation.
•  On Sept. 26 assisted with staff training with employees of the Mount Abraham Unified School District.
•  On Sept. 26 investigated the report of the sound of gunfire behind Airport Drive and encountered no one in the area.
•  On Sept. 26, with a Mount Abraham Unified School district staff member, presented a block of instruction for local first responders.
•  On Sept. 27 responded to a two-car collision, with property damage, on Airport Drive.
•  On Sept. 29 an officer worked a security detail for an event at Mount Abe.
•  On Sept. 29 referred to the civil court process a citizen attempting to reclaim personal property.
•  On Sept. 30, at 7:01 p.m., responded to the report of two motorcycles on Mountain Street operating on the sidewalk and doing wheelies, but the motorcyclists left before police arrived.
•  On Sept. 30 completed a report regarding a damaged road sign.
