ADDISON COUNTY — In local high school boys’ soccer play over the weekend, Middlebury and Vergennes won, while Mount Abraham earned a tie.
On Friday the Tigers blanked visiting Milton, 3-0, to move back over .500 at 4-3-1. Tucker Moulton recorded a goal and an assist, and Oliver Poduschnick and Eben Jackson also scored for the Tigers, who limited Milton to two shots on goal an forced two Milton keepers to make 11 saves.
On Saturday VUHS earned its third straight shutout win over a Division I opponent, 2-0, at home vs. Spaulding. Josias Salomao scored and set up Ezekiel Palmer’s goal, and goalie Gabriel Kadric made nine saves, six fewer than the Tide’s Levi Hilton VanOsdall. With the win in their homecoming game the Commodores evened their record at 4-4.
On Friday the Eagles and visiting Missisquoi settled for a 2-2 deadlock. Eric McKean converted a penalty kick and set up a William Wright goal for Mount Abe, which moved to 2-4-2 with the tie against the 4-2-3 T-Birds.
