The New York Times recently reported that China is building a new Island at the tip of Malysia in the major shipping lane between Asia and Europe with an unwilling Malaysia that owes China too much to say no.  This city will have a major shipping port.  This is the new Forest City.
It didn’t mention that the US is doing anything.  Trump has probably not heard of Malaysia and shipping in that area.
