Letter to the editor: Cordes backed in House primary

I look forward to voting in Vermont’s primary on Tuesday, Aug. 14, when I’ll throw my support to Democratic candidate Mari Cordes in the Addison-4 Vermont House race. Here’s why:
•  Mari is a registered nurse with experience in health care policymaking and advocacy (she already fights for accessibility and excellent care for us all).
•  Mari is a mother and grandmother — the only female Democratic primary candidate in Addison-4 — hoping to be the first woman to represent our  district (Bristol, Lincoln, Monkton, Starksboro) in nearly 30 years.
•  Mari is the only Democratic primary candidate in this race who has received statewide education, labor, and environmental endorsements, and in late breaking news has been personally endorsed by Senator Bernie Sanders.
•  Mari has volunteer and professional experience in coalition and consensus building — skills critical to solving Vermont’s greatest challenges and enhancing its economic and independent energy opportunities.
I hope you will join me, my good neighbors.
