Body of Burlington man discovered near Lewis Creek Fishing Access

FERRISBURGH — Vermont State Police on Thursday morning identified 56-year-old Peter J. Tolis of Burlington as the man found deceased in the water near the Lewis Creek Fishing Access off Long Point Road on Aug. 5.
VSP said the four-day delay in identifying Tolis was due to notification of next of kin. Police have ruled out foul play as the cause of death.
According to VSP, Tolis’ body was discovered by two kayakers at about 3 p.m. that Saturday afternoon. Rescue workers and an assistant medical examiner responded to the scene.
Anyone with information on this incident should contact VSP at (802) 773-9101.
