Point CounterPoint features faculty in concert

The Point CounterPoint faculty musicians will present an evening of chamber music at Middlebury’s Town Hall Theater on Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 7:30 p.m. Middlebury pianist Diana Fanning is the special guest artist in a performance of Robert Schumann’s Piano Quartet. The program also includes Mozart’s Viola Quintet in G Minor, and Janacek’s String Quartet No. 2, “Intimate Letters.”
The professional musicians who teach at Point CounterPoint Chamber Music Camp on Lake Dunmore hail from prestigious music institutions and from many parts of the world.  Trevor Handy (cellist from Los Angeles, Calif.), Karl Ørvik (violinist from Boston, Mass.), Jennifer Kloetzel (cellist from San Francisco, Calif.), Rita Porfiris (violist from West Hartford, Conn.), Ertan Torgul (violinist from Fort Worth, Texas), Svava Bernharðsdóttir (violist from Kópavogur, Iceland) and Anton Miller (violinist from West Hartford, Conn.) will be performing on Wednesday evening.
Admission to the concert is free, and goodwill donations to support Point CounterPoint are encouraged. The house opens at 7 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. concert.
