This morning I woke up to learn on the internet that a prescription medicine I had been taking for years — valsartan hctz — had been recalled overnight nationwide. I spoke to my pharmacist at Marble Works as soon as they opened, then to my primary care office (Addison Family Medicine) and by mid-afternoon I had my new prescription in hand. And a refund for a recent renewal from the pharmacy for the now banned medicine.
Timely is one of my favorite words and this was indeed a timely response from the local medical community. Thanks to all who responded so “timely.”
