Britt Connors and Bourbon Renewal perform in Brandon

Britt Connors and Bourbon Renewal bring their own brand of “Y’all-ternative” music back to Brandon Music this Saturday evening, armed with the makings of Connor’s third album. Before heading into the studio in September, they’ll debut some new songs and new arrangements of old songs. The band is comprised of some of Boston’s finest jazz and Americana musicians, who have all previously played at Brandon Music with Connor, or as part of the John Funkhouser Trio/Quartet.
For the past decade, Connor has been honing her craft as a singer-songwriter while building a loyal following. She and Bourbon Renewal have been turning heads with their top-notch band sound and vocal harmonies, performing at some of the top venues in the Boston area, plus venues throughout New England, including Rockwood Music Hall in New York City.
Connors blends blues, folk and country with jazz voicing and pop sensibilities. Her latest album, “Warmer Season” features her original tunes that are alternately rockin’, country, sweet, rootsy, New-Orleans-street-parade-style, or just plain fun. With clapping, foot-stomping, and even some whistling, the record created its own sub-category of Americana they’ve dubbed “Y’all-Ternative” music.
Backing up Connors vocals and guitar is John Funkhouser on keys and vocals; Ed Lucie on bass and vocals; Andrew Stern on guitars; and Mike Connors on drums. Don’t miss this show on Saturday, July 28, at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets to the show are $20; add dinner for an extra $25. Reservations are required for dinner and recommended for the show. Venue is BYOB. Call (802) 247-4295, email [email protected] or visit brandon-music.net for more info.
