Monkton news for July 19
MONKTON — Save the date! Mark your calendars for “Monkton Community Day” on Saturday, Aug. 25, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Morse Park.
This community day will be filled with activities, fun, food, games and many big vehicles to explore!
Look forward to seeing big trucks, tractors and other equipment for kids to climb on.
Be ready to play games such as volleyball or soccer, plus other games and activities, such as rocket launching, cow plop bingo and a pop-up library.
Plan on a feast at 6 p.m. with a potluck super and possibly some evening entertainment.
The idea is to give people a chance to show off what we have right here in town.
The Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and the Monkton Volunteer Fire Department are all going to be there.
Would you like to participate and let townspeople know what you have to offer our community?
Or maybe you would like to be a volunteer and help to make this event a really special day.
Watch for more info as the date nears!
Contact Troop 525 Scoutmaster, George Parker at 802-453-5282 or e-mail [email protected] for more information or to offer your services.
After two successful candidate forums in the Addison-4 House district, one more is scheduled for July 25, 7-8:30 p.m. at the Monkton Friends Methodist Church, 78 Monkton Ridge Road.
With the Primary Election just around the corner — Aug. 14 — and early voting already begun this is an opportunity to learn more about the Democratic candidates running for the Vermont State Legislature House seats in Addison-4 serving Bristol, Lincoln, Monkton and Starksboro.
Candidates are: Mari Cordes, Paul Forlenza, Caleb Elder and Rob Demic.
Each candidate will make a short presentation and the audience will have an opportunity to ask the candidates questions. So bring your questions and ask them on July 25!
Refreshments will be provided. This event is organized by the Monkton Town and Addison County Democratic Committees.
