Learn to fight off mosquitos

WEYBRIDGE — What do a bucket, a clogged gutter, and a flower pot saucer outside have in common?
You’re right if you said mosquitoes. Anything around your yard and property that creates a puddle can be a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
The Lemon Fair Insect Control District invites everyone to attend an open house this Saturday, July 21, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at their district’s lab/office space at 2790 Weybridge Road in Weybridge (right behind the Weybridge Congregational Church).
Learn about what you can do to reduce mosquitoes from breeding and resting on your property. They will have microscopes set up and activities.
This year the district is having a poster contest, the theme as always: “FIGHT THE BITE!” At the “Lab,” create a drawing, write a poem illustrating how to protect yourself from mosquitoes.
There will be door prizes, refreshments and handouts available. Also, a translucent tick ID card will be handed out to each individual who comes.
This is open to everyone, not just residents of the insect control district.
