Va-va-va-voom! Risque cabaret plays Burlington

Rip-roaring musical numbers, burlesque beauties, naughty innuendos and even bathtub gin. What is this — the Roaring ’20s? No, it’s the Spielpalast Cabaret.
Vermont’s longest-running cabaret troupe returns this weekend and next to Burlington with a theatrical experience that’ll have you blushing. The troupe takes audience members on a journey back to the Weimar years in post-World War I German, when sass, jazz and wit were always in great supply. With dazzling gals in silk and garters, the scintillating tunes of the Spielpalast Band, and a dash of political satire, you’re sure to be leaving feeling most satisfied.
Beginning May 25-27, and continuing May 31 through June 2, Spielpalast will transform the Black Box Theater at Main Street Landing into a world of yesteryear, buzzing with the energy of a 1920s and ’30s cabaret. Performances will begin at 8 p.m. with additional oh-so-scandalous late night show times at 11 p.m. on the two days — Saturday, May 26, and Friday, June 1 — and a special 8 p.m. scandalous show on Sunday, May 27. All shows will be preceded by a cocktail hour (one hour before the show) that will feature a cash bar and titillating entertainment.
Come join us for an evening of bawdy vaudeville and vintage burlesque.
Tickets for the 2018 production of Spielpalast Cabaret are $25 in advance/ $27 day of show. Buy them through the Flynn Box Office at 153 Main St. in Burlington, call (802) 86-FLYNN, or head online to flynntix.org. Show producers said they anticipate that most shows will sell out in advance, and they reminded parents to leave the kiddies at home (of course)!
