ANWSD chooses a new superintendent

VERGENNES — The Addison Northwest School District board has reached a verbal agreement with a Harwood Unified School District administrator to become the new ANWSD superintendent.
ANWSD officials confirmed on Wednesday morning that Sheila Soule, the HUSD Director of Curriculum, Assessment, and Instruction since 2009, was offered a contract after the ANWSD board met on Tuesday night and reached a verbal agreement.
Current ANWSD Superintendent JoAn Canning said ANWSD Board Chairwoman Sue Rakowski and Soule would meet soon to make final a contract.
Soule was one of three finalists the board interviewed on Tuesday and who toured ANWSD schools and met with members of the public earlier in the day.
According to her résumé on the ANWSD website Soule obtained a master’s in educational leadership from the University of Vermont in 2004 and earned her undergraduate degree from Johnson State in 1992.
