Tide stems MUHS girls’ tennis

MIDDLEBURY — Visiting Spaulding defeated the Middlebury Union High School girls’ tennis team on Monday, 6-1. The Tigers, coming off a competitive 4-3 loss to Mount Mansfield last week, dropped to 0-3. 
On Monday No. 3 singles player Elizabeth Bright picked up the Tigers’ point, defeating the Tide’s Faith Redmond, 6-4, 6-3. 
In the other matches: 
•           At No. 1 singles, Whitney Renaud defeated Sierra Barnicle (MUHS), 6-3, 7-5.
•           At No. 2 singles, Randi Dudley defeated Nora Draper (MUHS), 6-1, 6-1.
•           At No. 4 singles, Kelsey Nolan defeated Anika Shook-Kemp (MUHS), 6-0, 6-0.
•           At No. 5 singles, Chloe Lamphere defeated Abby Bailey (MUHS), 6-0, 6-1.
•           At No. 1 doubles, Maddy Pletzer/ Meghan Brier defeated Isadora Luksch/Anna Scharstein (MUHS), 6-0, 6-0.
•           At No. 2 doubles, Hallie Pletzer/Grace Paterson defeated Gwen Troumbley/Cammy Kutter (MUHS), 6-2, 6-0.
