Commodore girls’ lacrosse falls, 11-6
VERGENNES — The Vergennes-Mount Abraham cooperative girls’ lacrosse team on this past Thursday lost to visiting Chelsea-Randolph, 11-6.
The Commodores’ Friday game at U-32 was postponed, leaving them at 0-4 heading into a Tuesday rematch with Chelsea-Randolph at Randolph.
On Thursday, Norah Deming led the Commodore attack with two goals and two assists, and Leah Croke, Sophie Davis, Erin Lawrence and Jalen Cook (assist) added a goal apiece. Cook continued to lead VUHS in scooping ground balls, grabbing 13; Bekah Duprey had an assist; and goalie Ashley Tierney stopped 11 shots.
Tucker Chapin’s nine goals and two assists sparked the visitors, and their goalie stopped 16 shots.
