All three local track & field teams post wins

CHITTENDEN COUNTY — Track and field athletes from Middlebury, Mount Abraham and Vergennes union high schools won events this past Wednesday at meets hosted by Essex and Mount Mansfield.
At Essex, Tiger freshman C.J. Bryant won at both 200 and 400 meters in times of 23.65 and 52.65, respectively, and the Tiger girls’ four-by-400-meter relay team of Helen Anderson, Caroline Kimble, Isabel Olson and Ailey Bosworth prevailed in 4:19.28.
At MMU, Eagle senior Lydia Pitts won the girls’ 100 hurdles in 15.71, and Mount Abe senior Jackson Counter tossed the javelin 153 feet, seven inches to claim that event.
Also, the Commodore girls’ 4×100 relay team of Munro McLaren, Amber Krumrie, Marlie Hunt and Cedar Winslow prevailed in 57.42, and the Eagle boys’ 4×100 unit of Jack Beauchaine, Isaiah Szczecinski, William Wright and Weston Alfred won in 49.53.
A number of Tigers also posted top-six finishes (full MMU results were not available):

•  300 Hurdles: 2. Hunter Heffernan, 49.44.

•  Shot Put: 6. Bastiaan Phair, 34’-2”.
•  Javelin: 4. Peter Wolosinski, 109’-3”.
•  High Jump: 2. Phair, 5’-4”.
•  Pole Vault: 4. Ian Fenster and Gabe Cason, 8’-6”.
Girls’ Results
•  100: 4. Chloe Kane, 13.73.
•  200: 4. Kane, 27.88.
•  400: 2. Olson; 1:02.56; 4. Anderson; 1:04.56; 6. Kimble, 1:06.03.
•  3,000: 4. Katherine Koehler, 12:33.25.
•  300 Hurdles: 2. Meredith Kimble, 54.26.
•  4×100: 3. Kane, Emily Pottinger, Journey LaRose, Ginny Patz, 56.69.
•  4×800: 3. Sofia Stefani, Camille Malhotra, Greta Hardy-Mittell, Kate Wallace, 12:00.61.
•  High Jump; 6. Natali Sullivan, 4’-4”.
