MUHS track fares well at Essex meet
ESSEX — Nineteen members of the Middlebury Union High School track and field team competed this past Wednesday at the Essex vocational meet, and many of them made their mark.
The girls four-by-800-meter relay team, expected to contend for the Division II title, won the event. Competing were Isabel Olson, Katherine Koehler, Camille Malhotra and Caroline Kimble.
Freshman C.J. Bryant, senior Sam Hodges and Olson, a sophomore, also excelled, each placing in the top five in two running events, topped by Bryant’s pair of second-place efforts.
The Tigers’ top finishers in each event and all their top-10 finishers were:
BOYS:
• 100 meters: 13. Anthony Garner, 11.93.
• 200: 2. Bryant, 23.45.
• 400: 2. Bryant; 53.09.
• 800: 3. Hodges, 2:07.33.
• 1500: 5. Hodges, 4:23.43.
• 3000:17. Thomas Nevins, 10:57.05.
• 300 Hurdles: 11. Hunter Heffernan, 50.24.
• Shot Put: 16. Bastiaan Phair, 32-10.
• Discus: 23. Adin Girard, 64-05.
• Javelin: 15. Girard,103-09.
• Long Jump: 17. Bryant, 17-02.50
GIRLS:
100: 9. Chloe Kane, 13.63.
• 800: 5. Olson, 2:31.54; 7. Kimble, 2:33.34.
• 1500: 3. Olson, 5:17.84; 5. Kimble; 5:24.31.
• 4×800 Relay: 1. (Olson, Koehler, Malhotra, Kimble) 10:31.03.
