Vermont State Police Log: VSP handle DUI, domestic assault

ADDISON COUNTY — Vermont State Police working out of the New Haven barracks reported a drunken driving citation a domestic assault arrest, in addition to some other typical police work.
On Feb. 28 at around 10 minutes past 7 p.m. troopers stopped a motor vehicle on Middlebrook Road in Ferrisburgh after observing an equipment violation. While talking to driver Derik Heir, 39, of Ferrisburgh, the trooper reports that he detected signs of impairment. After screening Heir for driving under the influence, Trooper Gurwicz arrested Heir, took him to the barracks for processing and released him after citing Heir for DUI.
Separately, on March 3 at approximately 5:54 p.m. state police responded to a reported assault that took place at a Monkton home. Police report that they investigated and ended up citing Alex Lussier, 24, of New Haven for domestic assault. Lussier was jailed at Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility without bail.

•  March 1, citizen assist, LaRose Lane, Bristol.
•  March 1, directed patrol, Fern Lake Road, Leicester.
•  March 1, medical assist, Upper Plains Road, Salisbury.
•  March 2, motor vehicle/disturbances, Monkton Road, Monkton.
•  March 2, citizen dispute, Hillside Drive, Starksboro.
•  March 2, traffic crash/non-reportable, Route 125 and Hamlin Road, Cornwall.
•  March 2, accident with damage, Lovers Lane, Bristol.
•  March 3, suspicious person or circumstance, Route7, New Haven.
•  March 3, traffic crash/non-reportable, Ireland Road, Starksboro.
•  March 4, fraud, Bristol Road, Monkton.
•  March 4, 911 hang-up, Town Hill Road, New Haven.
•  March 4, citizen assist, Big Hollow Road and Hinesburg Hollow Road, Starksboro.
•  March 5, agency assist with no further details revealed.
•  March 5, burglary with breaking and entering, York Hill Road, Lincoln.
